The Day

Swap the game-day buzz for a proper Aussie escape — the perfect pre- or post-game plan for 49ers fans visiting Melbourne.

Breathe in that fresh sea air as you head down to the coast, where the iconic, brightly coloured bathing boxes line the beaches of Port Phillip Bay. These classic little huts are a true slice of Melbourne summer — simple, full of character, and the kind of spot locals have been coming back to for generations. It’s an easy, feel-good start with plenty of time to take it all in and snap those must-have photos.

Next up, get your Aussie wildlife fix at Moonlit Sanctuary. Hand-feed kangaroos, see koalas up close, and wander through bushland filled with wallabies, reptiles and native birds. It’s relaxed, interactive, and one of the best ways to experience Australia’s unique wildlife in a natural setting. Want the full experience? Add on a personal Koala Encounter when we arrive. **Subject to availability and timing.**

From there, it’s time to settle in and enjoy what the Mornington Peninsula does best — great food and seriously good wine. At Merrick’s General Wine Store, a true local favourite with views over Westernport Bay, you’ll enjoy a long, relaxed winery lunch paired with premium tastings. Think fresh local produce, cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and that laid-back, indoor-outdoor dining style Australians do so well.

On the way home, we wind up Arthur’s Seat for breathtaking views over Port Phillip Bay — one last look at the Peninsula before we roll back into the city.

You’ll be travelling with fellow 49ers and Rams fans, so expect a fun, easygoing day with plenty of laughs along the way. With easy city transfers and a local guide who knows the region inside out, everything runs smoothly — all you have to do is enjoy it.
