This all day Melbourne Shore Excursion included in “Best of the Mornington Peninsula” is designed to present the beauty of the maritime region with spectacular views from Arthur’s Seat lookouts.
On the journey to the Mornington Peninsula we have a stop at the beach to see historic Bathing Boxes at Dendy Street. This is a popular tourist stop of 82 distinctive bathing boxes, a row of uniformly proportioned wooden structures lining the foreshore at Brighton Beach.
Built well over a century ago in response to very Victorian ideas of morality and seaside bathing, the bathing boxes remain almost unchanged! All retain classic Victorian architectural features with timber framing, weatherboards and corrugated iron roofs, though they also bear the hallmarks of individual artistic and colourful embellishments.
We continue on to popular Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park
With general admission included in the tour rate you can feed the kangaroos and wallabies aswell as saying g’day to many Australian animals including wombats, dingoes and australian birdlife.
When booking you can also add a Koala encounter as an extra. This needs to be prebooked with limited numbers.
We then drive up the hill to the wine region of the Mornington Peninsula where we stop and enjoy a delicious lunch at Merrick’s General Wine Store. Local and seasonal produce paired with a glass of local wine. You can also enjoy a wine tasting at this award winning cellar door (tasting room)
After a relaxing break with a wonderful lunch we start our return back to the port (Station Pier) via a popular lookout at Arthur’s Seat
for amazing views of golden beaches, Mornington and Bellarine peninsulas, and the twinkling glass towers of Melbourne, far across the bay.
We return you back to Melbourne Port with wonderful memories of your day on the Mornington Peninsula.
