Premium Wine Tasting in Barrel Room at Quealy Winemakers Kathleen Quealy is a pioneer winemaker on the Mornington Peninsula. Quealy Winery Cellar Door takes you right into the heart of the winery, tasting amidst the barrels and Tuscan terracotta amphora. Kathleen and Kevin first arrived on the Mornington Peninsula in 1988 and have spent the subsequent years cultivating a reputation for single vineyard expressions of regional heroes Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, sourced from some of the oldest and finest sites on the Peninsula.
Quealy’s experience of Italian wine-making tradition has inspired Secco Splendido, Pobblebonk, Pinot Grigio and little-grown Friulano variety. Open daily, come and taste with our experienced team including resident cellar paw, Ninja.
The Quealy family is an icon in the Australian wine world and the wine here tells you why very quickly. The cellar door at Quealy is just 70km from Melbourne in the township of Balnarring. The all timber room is lined with tens of their bottles with standing and tasting room for groups or just a pair. Tom, the son of owner Kathleen Quealy, runs this winery and the many vineyards attached including Kerri Greens. Pinot Noir is King at Quealy with several of different clones and sites. The Campbell & Christine is perfectly balanced, Seventeen Rows is their number one, and Rageous is a sangiovese-pinot noir-shiraz blend that is a cellar door favourite with an interesting story attached. Of course, there are whites too, with a fantastic sparkling (Secco Splendido) and Pinot Grigio.
