Epicurean Food and Wine Tours can organise a private tour that is tailored to give you the ultimate experience of wineries both well known and boutique.
Proposed Itinerary for a
Yarra Valley Private Group Tour
Healesville has grown to be a must visit place when in the Yarra Valley. It is the perfect country town to immerse your self with great food, wine, art and wildlife . It is a regional food and wine hub, home to Healesville Sanctuary, Innocent Bystander, Giant Steps, Healesville Hotel, TarraWarra Estate and the new kid on the block- Four Pillar Gin Distillery.
The beautiful estate of Domaine Chandon, formerly a dairy farm is now a very chic and fashionable winery and is the only Domaine Chandon home in Australia. Here you can enjoy a glass of sparkling from their range tasting or a splash of 6 wines at the tasting bar. Then it’s out on the deck for a selfie or two. You’ll see why when you see the view!
Lunch at the very cool Trattoria D’ Soumah where you can dine on the verandah in warmer months overlooking the vines. Soumah is a progressive new winery located in the Warramate foothills of the Yarra Valley near Healesville. They specialise in varieties from three distinct regions in Europe & Northern Italy. This is a very special treat that offers traditional Italian fare with wine paired perfectly at the cellar food.
Dominique Portet, a nineth generation winemaker chose the Yarra Valley to bring home his 40th vintage to. His son Ben continues the family tradition. The cellar door is Mediterranean in style and you can sip and swirl their gorgeous wines. While there you can try your hand at the french game Pentaque, one of the few games where you can hold a glass of wine as you play.
